I'm waiting till someone throws a mental AT the club for this, and then I will be the first to point out "When did the club ever say there were going to get a massive friendly in this pre season?"

Boavista are regularly in European competitions so it's not bad opposition to have. Obviously people will complain because it's not Barcelona or a World Allstars XI, but then what do they expect? We're only Coventry. If we were Premiership champions, would we choose a pre-season friendly against a midtable Serie B side, or a game against one of the bigger Serie A sides? That's the position that the big teams are in when we offer them a friendly, so it's hardly surprising that we haven't got anyone bigger.

It's a massive improvement, on Norwich, Wolves or Notts County.

Like its been mentioned above, I can't remember the club saying they were going to be playing a massive club in a friendly, so what gave everyone the impression they would be?

I'm not complaining particularly (Less people through the turnstiles, less work :wink: ). As for could we get better opposition? Check out some of the shite other Championship clubs have played over recent seasons. We could have got a better side for boosting the attendance. Even the big clubs need a workout........

Problem is just about every club wants a friendly with Man Ure, Liverpool, Arse etc for the same reason. These "big" clubs are more interested in pre season foreign tours than playing other English sides.
