Elvis to banish players that have let him down

So who is on Elvis's naughty list then?

Burge would seem to be one that could be at risk but who are the others?
Barton and Willis were substituted so does that mean they are at risk.

Hes certainly pissed off with them....good press conference to be fair.....but if he doesn't get a reaction from them in the next 2 games, then I think he'll have to walk......

I think at least for Elvis, the passion for the club & to succeed is there. I actually believe him. And that's a good starting point.
Now he's really got to prove he's got the actual managerial chops to back that up. fair fucks to him foe actually wearing his heart on his
sleeve for that press conference - I think he genuinely gives a fuck...an impression I never got from the likes of Boothroyd or Coleman.

if players really have been letting him down then if anything he's been guilty of giving them too much slack perhaps....
so now it's time for SP to up his game.

I'd like to give him time - god knows this club has has so so much instability for so long - & if we get rid right now, in all
seriousness, who are we honestly going to replace him ? Another flop from the managerial merry-go-round ? Let's not kid ourselves -
anyone really decent isn't going to come to this disaster zone of a club are they ? It's a poisoned chalice.

Let's be honest, SP has got this season to try & prove himself - the JPT final & a top 10 finish would be a decent basis.

But it's bloody annoying that this season, finally unhindered by points deductions, we've been garbage. How much this is down to SP
& what he does now to remedy it remains to be seen. I say give him more time, but he will be judged ultimately.

Must say that after the debacle that was Sunday I would have been more than happy for him to have got the bullet. Now having seen the press conference I have changed my mind and would give him a bit longer. He now has to back this up and wield the axe as said but on the other side of the coin he was the person who brought these players in?
Players he was talking about at a guess, Nouble,Tudgay,Barton,Burge,Mcquoid?

I too felt the anger was genuine, and that having tried to support them up to now and having been let down so badly he's not going to defend the indefensible. When your team can't come of the pitch with you thinking they've tried their hardest you cannot defend them.

Still massive questions to be asked of him, as these players with a bad attitude are likely ones he's brought in or given a contract to. His failure rate in transfers is shocking. The players weren't motivated, and that should come from within, but there should also be a fear of the managers wrath to add to it - maybe that's what this reaction is? And more than that, our tactics sounded wrong somehow - rather than high tempo pressing game he favours we looked nervy and sat back, maybe playing the long game and tiring them out so our better fitness could play dividends later on. As if he'd tried to warn them of complacency, disrespecting the opposition and being the big name scalp but he went too far and made them too edgy and giving Worcester too much respect?

Tomorrow night could be make or break for him - another poor performance and no reaction could see him gone, even with his new contract.

I'm not sure Fisher will sack him for a long time yet, it's not like he's one to bow to fan opinion. Fine by me, I still think Pressley is the man for the job.

I would like to add one caveat to my support - SP does refer to "this football club" a lot, very rarely does he say "Coventry" or "Coventry City"

Not heard that one. Not sure how much effort Reda made to get back from his international game but Carroll seemed to be able to manage it. I know its a bit different for keepers to outfield players.

Is it too much to ask for one decent season or even a season with some promise.

indeed Billy. Naively, I sort of thought this year, ok....so we've lost Wilson & Moussa...but no points deduction...no seemingly really strong teams in the league this year - let's have a proper tilt at a good season this time around.

I can't believe I was that daft - should know better by now.

I can actually see us going down this year - this team has that sort of 'feel' to it somehow...?

Must say I didn't expect much else. With probably the best keeper in the league going, along with Baker,Moussa and Wilson and Clark departing(who papered over the cracks) it was inevitable.It's the beginning of the end for Pressley and I can't really see him doing a Pardew and turning it round. If we could see signs of progression I'd say give him a bit longer, but lets face, has anyone seen that?

I'm surprised he didn't do the honourable thing & quit at the weekend.....

....I mean, its not a great reaction is it.....you get taught a lesson & put out of the cup at home by a non-league outfit & then within a week, you field a side that produces ZERO shots on target at home in 90+ mins....

His win ration in the league is so bad now.....Its getting perilously close to 1 in 5 over the last 12 months....

I guess a pay-off of a 4 year contract outweighs professional pride.....

Never mind eh.

It's also a bit weird how quickly he's backtracked on not protecting them anymore. To say the players can be 'proud' when we had no shots on target, at home?

Although at the moment his win ratio and PPG are still higher than a certain Buzz Lightyear impersonator..... ;-)

lets be honest here, his record is woeful. Last season he got out of jail by having 2 strikers on fire, the defence was a joke. This year the whole team is a joke.
