Late Kick-Off

Postby The Yid » Mon Mar 18, 2013 8:33 pm

Did anyone see the report - with the interview from the Sky Blue Trust?
Is that the best we can muster to give a representation of Coventry City fans... It looked more like a learning difficulties convention.

Oh and the guy in the old, old Cov shirt... It's not retro - you just look like a cock.

Should have got CK and DJ down there...

Just watched it on catch-up...

...dear oh dear. looking at them, I can see why ACL & Compass want to keep all the revenue from Pie sales.....

...more worryingly, it came across that the "Sky blue Trust" represent the fans view, and the fans view is that they want administration....

.....Atleast Froggy stated that the fans would be divided on the issue....
......waiting for the great leap forwards [smilie=icon_paper.gif]

I don't know why the show bothered 'discussing' it if they weren't going to do it properly. It was fluff - there was no substance or balance to the piece. Comments were being made without any real context.

I liked this from the SBT ( commenting on this Yank who didn't buy Leeds ultimately & I'm sure has as much intent on taking on the Sky Blues as Dhinsa, Alki David & Hoffman combined )

"Jan Mokrzycki, of the Sky Blue Trust, said: “We have no reason to believe whether this is true or false. We’re as clueless as everyone else."

I disagree.

You lot are considerably more clueless than everyone else.... [smilie=icon_mrhappy.gif]

They are embarrassing. A clueless group of self appointed narcissists believing every bit of ACL propaganda. If they are our future I'm giving up on football

 not really... as the answer to that question is : " any scrap of dignity that I did formerly possess".

though admittedly in your case Haggis that might not actually be relevant... ;-) [smilie=icon_mrhappy.gif]

Jan Mokrzycki, spokesman for the Sky Blues Supporters Trust, believes the club had to move from their old stadium. He said: "People say, 'We should never have moved', but we had to move. Highfield Road needed so much money spending on it, there was no room to expand because it was surrounded by housing and it only held 20,000 people. Looking back on it that's all we need now but had we stayed in the Premiership or Championship we would have been at capacity sometimes. The reasons for moving at the time were extremely valid." He continued: The whole thing has got so stupid. It's now no longer about contracts, finance or anything else. It's just personal."

In one paragraph the Grauniad sums up the mongs in a dozen ways. Also dictionary.com is going to take a battering tonight for sepulchral from CV postcodes.

My biggest worry isnt that we are deducted 10 points its that the trust (or any fanbased group) actually take the club over. Could you imagine what would happen if they put the untrust in charge!

What a load of crap. Two sides of the ground were completely re-built anyway, and there was permission to knock down the Sky Blue Stand(?), shut the road, and build a massive new stand. That would only have left the West End, which, if houses had been bought up when the idea of extending or moving were first made, would have cost very little to do. The comment that we 'would have been at capacity sometimes' borders on the ridiculous. Isn't that what we want? Or do we want empty seats? Most Trusts have a shed-load of members, the SBT has an embarrassingly small amount. I believe they also have a range of clothing too, which they aim to sell to raise money for a 'fighting fund'. I have yet to see anybody wearing such fashionable garments. If anybody with a brain-cell and ten minutes to spare wanted to, they could set up a rival Trust and put the original one out of business within hours.
