By someone who may not be in the job for very long himself - a meaningless assurance.

How can anybody criticise Thorn after the two battling performances against Bristol City and Doncaster .... oh.

Apparently the fans just don't understand where the club is going and what it's trying to achieve because of lack of communication from the board (Tim Fisher)

We understand precisely where the club is going...
Down the shitter.
That couldn't be communicated any more clearly.

If the gerryatrics that came on the pitch at half-time had stayed on instead of the shower of shite that came out for the second half we would've stood more chance.
Sad to see names from an era when pride and passion were the very least you could expect from a sky blue.
Today there was nothing, we have a sorry sham of a club, one that lost its heart and backbone years ago, today it probably lost its soul too.

Thorn and his coaching staff have got to go. SISU have got to go. Half the squad (at least) have got to go.

Nothing will change at City until the dead lifeless lumps which have been dragging the club down for years have been cut out and replaced with vigorous energetic flesh.

It's time for a new Jimmy Hill to come into the club and tell everyone that he will not tolerate the couldn't give a fuck attitude that has got a grip on the whole place. If you don't want to win, fuck off. From this point on we are winners and we will do anything to see the club progress.

Will it happen ? Of course it fucking won't. This club lost it's balls years ago and has no intention of growing them back.
We'll spend a few years in Division One doing fuck all then slide into Division Two just hanging around until the inevitable happens.
If there is any mercy in the world we will go pop long before then.

blah Blah blah.
Lots of us on here always knew this was inevitable. . . And anyone with half a brain knows that the root cause to this current situation was nothing to do with thorn or sisu. . . City are reaping what they sowed years back. . . . I blame all the sky tellyclappers who encouraged such reckless abandon back in the 1990's. . . City always were a small time nothing club who got lucky in the 60's and then punched above their weight for far too long. . . Far bigger and more successful clubs have failed on a bigger scale than city.
See you at tranmere.
Peace out. :-)

It wasn't "luck". It was a complete change of mindset.

I have a mate who was around long before Jimmy Hill came to the club and lives for Coventry City. He will tell you quite straight that before Hill the club were a fucking absolute joke. The people that ran it would readily sign 40 year old cripples and just sit back and rake in the money.

The decision to appoint Hill was revolutionary thinking for Coventry City. But since the day he left we have as a club just drifted back to our old ways. All we need is for just one man to give a fuck and have the guts to say enough is enough, being shit is not acceptable any more. Other clubs do it on a regular basis. Cov City can't seem to quite summon up the effort and the fans don't seem to give a shit until it's too late.

I agree that the hill era was revolutionary. . . The man was an inspiration. . . City were LUCKY to have him!
You go on to mention that all we need is for someone to say its no longer acceptable to be shit. . . Er yeah, right, that'll fix everything eh!
What city need is one of 2 things. A billionaire idiot who wants to loved in coventry for a few months or a ruthless private equity group of city spivs and hedgefunders to write off £40m As a gesture of goodwill. . . .

Dunno if anything can change culture at club unless it is a figurehead. Money won't do it.
Chelsea have loads of it but they're despised like few others......
People who remember better times at Cov are resigned to our position. Things won't improve until a bit of honesty returns to club. This will have to start in the boardroom and be demonstrable to the fans.
Nothing else will do or work.
