Poor bastard, the pressure was immense.....maybe a putt might have been the safer/better option.
Best sporting contest there is - no question - and they do it for nothing,,,,,

They can afford to, I doubt any of the players had earned less than a million this year between winnings and sponsorship deals.

That said, it is superb. I missed the last few hours, I left knowing we wuld win being 3 up in all 3 of the ends we needed, so was surprised to find out how close it had got. Woods on the back 9 was back to his best.

I'm just glad Gmac is so good under pressure. I think many of the other Europeans would have wilted under the pressure at the end.
Have fun

Fantastic weekend with some brilliant golf and a lot of heavy heavy drinking. Can't argue with that.

Without doubt, the best sporting event in the world.

A poor putt is always better than a poor chip, FACT. Nice to see these guys are still human and can fuck it up like the rest of us do, especially during a day of such high quality golf.

Was delighted to see GMac was selected last for the singles, as i had a feeling it would come down to the last match. The americans were always going to be stronger in the singles, puts them back in their comfort zone 1 on 1 as opposed to pairs. Tiger was immense, glimpses of his former self, and even fat Phil pulled his finger out of his arse after playing very poorly up until the singles. Performances of the week for me from Westwood for being the on course leader after coming back from injury, Donald for being so solid, Poulter for just being perfect in this sort of tournament, and GMac for simply being the fucking man! Thought the debutants did very well too.

I have it on good authority that the course outside the ropes is completely trashed, but it coped well considering, i dont think even a proper links course would of coped with that much water. Hopefully the fucking PGA will start taking it more seriously and not want to schedule it at the end of the year and we can avoid this situation. Whoever thought holding a major sporting event, outside, in October, in the South of Wales was a good idea needs fuckin shooting.

Lloydy, the Ryder Cup seems to grow in significance and both tours recognise that the game owes it big time. Definitely worth bringing it forward a few weeks....... even heard talk of making it an annual event. :?:
re the chip/putt thing......I would've putted it......sent it 10ft past......missed the one coming back......probably ended up with a six.

Hmmm, not sure i like the idea of making it an annual thing. its a bit like the ashes, makes it more special not doing it as often, making it a yearly may ruin it a bit i reckon.

And regarding the chip/putt, i'd of putted it too, but i'd of canned it, no question, my putting is shit hot. [smilie=icon_mrhappy.gif]
