Watched this last night, and I am pleased that David Haye in now world champion (and pleasantly surprised, I had Haye 2 rounds in front, but judging in Germany in usually biased).

But I have to say it was one of the worst heavyweight fights I have ever witnessed. Haye was continually backing off and trying to counter, which was difficult because, although he was always walking forward, Valuev didn't throw many punches. It was like watching the scene from Monty Pythons The Life of Brian when the slave is in the arena and runs away from the gladiator.

Hayes had to back away, if he had let Valuev use his size it would have been all over, and Valuev was understandably concerned about the counter attack, in the 12th round we saw evidence of Hayes power, so maybe this was ineveitable. They say styles make fights, and on this evidence these two should be banned from fighting again.

Hopefully now Hayes can fight some people he can reach and he'll show himself to be a great heavyweight champion.
