Yanks badly need to win.....think they'll do better than most predict.
Match to go to the wire with Europe shading it.

Think Faldo's got the pairings right for today, but his opening speech last night was shocking. Sounded like a pissed up stuttering twat.

Just heard his speech -was trying to be a bit too clever with his Ali jokes and then forgot one of his player's names! Hope we're better on the tees than off them

He left out Clarke and now Westwood and Garcia.....!! Bizarre. Faldo will be the fall guy if Europe lose, no question.

I'm not sure Faldo can be blamed for yesterday. Europe let a lot of winning positions slip and a lot of the games ended up being tight. From what I saw the Europeans played well but the US simply played better (Mickelsen was inspired). The scoring in some of the games was incredible.

Leaving out Garcia and Westwood does seem bizarre but I expect he is resting them for the afternoon. Had the two of them played in the morning and then been rested in the afternoon would there have been so many raised eyebrows? Azingers decision to change the fourballs and foursomes around has worked a treat.

Things can turn around dramatically in the singles but I wouldn't fancy Europes chances if the deficit is more than two points.

Europe need their top players, playing the morning. Can't believe Faldo has done what he has. Only time will tell but I think its an error 8)

I would maybe have rested Westwood, he isn't the player he was in the last Ryder Cup, but Garcia hasn't lost a fourballs.

Faldo was always going to get a rough ride, the US are really fired up for this, and I think the fact there are a lot of the younger US players in the team is going to help America as many of the old gaurd have not performed at Ryder Cups.

I still have faith in Faldo, he knows the game insiide out, and he is a Captain who won't be afraid to make the tough calls.

Apparently Garcia was feeling tired (he was antibiotics last week) and asked to be rested. Westwood has blisters from new shoes but wanted to play.

Just looking at this mornings partnerships and I'd fancy Poulter/Rose, and Harrington/Karlson to win, so if we can pinch another point it would represent a good mornings work.

I think it is imperative that we get at least a point back in both of todays sessions because you have to fancy the yanks on the singles if they are leading by more than a point.

The Americans used to do well in the singles but not recently. 2006 we won the singles by 5 points. In 2004 and 2002 we won the singles by 3 points. Of course its different when you are trying to come from behind.

Have all the players from both sides played???? Faldo's choices have been vindicated......fair enough..... but also, by playing Wilson all the team have seen the course.
It is a brilliant event. It simply never fails to deliver. Love the drama and partisanship but ultimately the respect every player has for the game shines through.....sport as it should be. ;-)
