The Open

Who do fancy then gentlemen?

With Tiger out its wide wide open.....even the favourite, Els, is around 14/1.

I currently favour 1 of 4; Garcia, Rose, Immleman or Karlsson.

Not put any money down as yet, although Immleman is curently 65/1 so should be easy to lay off assuming he doesn't fuck the first 18.

Ahh...THE Open can't wait. [smilie=icon_mrhappy.gif]
......waiting for the great leap forwards [smilie=icon_paper.gif]

When does it start?

Adam Scott has to be due a decent finish in one of these soon. Might be worth an each way punt.

Similar with K J Choi

Padraig to retain!.... :?:
There also seem to be a crop of younger, hungrier golfers coming through.
This bloke Kaymer looks useful.
Of the older generation only Westwood, and maybe Jimenez might break through.....don't think the others have what it takes.

It doesn't start till July 17th.....I just got a bit excited cos my tickets arrived & I've been checking the odds out.

If the final day atmosphere is anything like Hoylake 2 years ago, it'll be a cracker.....not to be missed [smilie=icon_mrhappy.gif]

Well, I was at the final practice day yesterday & I have to say the course looks awesome...

The 15th looks like the hardest golf hole ever.....and the little par 3 7th will cause all sorts of problems if the wind stays around...I reckon I saw about 50 tee shots at the 7th and maybe only 2 or 3 looked like birdie chances....only about 8 remained on the putting surface.

If the weather stays like it is....Mickleson & all the other yanks may as well quit now.....this is links golf boys....tight fairways and some horrible rough too.

IF Tiger was here....he'd shit himself.

  Bet he blames the weather   then again the difference between a course set up for a championship and a normal set up is worlds apart. I played a course the day after the spanish open finished and boy was it difficult  Greens were like ice

Rocco Mediate is about 200-1 to win it this year. Surely a good each way bet.

Cracking final day atmosphere.... Tiger who?

Norman lived up to expectation....silly old duffer. I believe he has now entered the final day as leader of 9 majors....and converted 1.

After the amazing atmosphere at both Hoylake 2 years ago and Birkdale, I reckon the open should always be played around here.......Liverpool was bursting at the seams this weekend....The Open being only one of many world-class attractions on offer! 8)

The way Padraig finished it off was sensational.
The final six holes were a model of brilliance under extreme pressure. It was as though he was able to raise his game at the very moment when it was required. The best result possible for the game and augurs well for the Ryder Cup.
