Cheltenham Prediction Competition

Postby billythefish » Fri Mar 07, 2008 6:11 pm

Was thinking about this today as cant get time off work to go this year.

How about a tipster compo based on the weeks racing.

Very simple post your predictions here before 12 each day of on all that days races. Any changes after 12 to a post rules all thats predictions invalid.

Winner of each race gets 10 points, second 5 and third 2 points. If anyone gets a winner of 10/1 or greater then we double the points.

I will then try and post daily table and an overall table to find the best/luckiest punter.

Anyone up for that?

I wouldn't if you had any aspirations of winning! [smilie=icon_wink.gif]

My brother gave me a load of 'tips' for today but luckily I ignored them and none of them managed to win.

I had £5 each on Tidal Bay at 7-1, An Accordian at 7-1 and Garde Champetre at 4-1, so I've had a good day so far with an £85 profit.

I've also had £5 on Ashkazar at 5-2 for the 5.20 race, but haven't seen the result on that yet.

Three winners from six races for me and two seconds. Shame I don't back each-way.

Only two horses I have heard a whisper for are Crocodiles Rock and Butlers Cabin. I backed both eachway a couple of months ago. I got 16's about C/R and 25's about B/C. I dont know what prices they are now or even if they have run, been too busy at work.

Dont shoot the messenger, all at Cheltenham:

12.30 Sandhurst.
13.40 Mr Strachan.
16.05 Boychuck.
17.05 Ma Yahab.

According to my man these are all worth an eachway bet and rolled up in combinations.

I've had £5 on each race today.

Hopefully a couple of my 'longer' shots come in, but even if I don't have no winners today, I'm still going to be £30 up on the week.

TF - I was going to back Mr Strachan, but thought better of it. [smilie=icon_wink.gif]

EDIT - My first horse in the 12:30 'Over The Creek' just came in 2nd. I really should start betting E/W. [smilie=icon_rolleyes.gif]

Bad day at the office so far.

I've had two winners (£5 on Master Minded at 11/4 and £5 on Inglis Drever at 5/4), 2 second places and 3 have fell. [smilie=icon_neutral.gif]

My next lot all have £5 on them;

4:40 - Don't Push It - 11/2
5:15 - My Imortal - 7/1
5:50 - Apt Approach - 9/2
