Canada/France wasn't a great game, but how much effort do you think the FA Cup losing semi-finalists would put in to a game, especially if that game is at a not-even half full stadium in Coventry? It's why the sacked off the 3-4 play-off in the World Cup - the teams just couldn't be arsed. Yes, there was a medal to play for but all in all I think they both just wanted to go home. Canada were still reeling from losing to the US.

Canada were a much better team in the QF, and if we put in half the effort the GB team in the QF there'd be a lot less complaining up the Ricoh, even if the standard is shit. I went to the men's game at OT and the women's game at the Ricoh and I felt much more enthralled with the women.

I went to the opening games too, and Canada-Japan was nervy with Japan playing playing tippy-tappy stuff, and Sweden had movement we'd kill for from a city forward line. Plus the S. African scoring from 45 yards.

I think the motivation of a bronze medal is a lot bigger than 3rd place in a world cup, look at how they celebrated, either way they were shit a forum team would have beat them.

And now that primo prick Nick 'I'm really quite thick' Griffin has made an utter **** of himself on twitter about Mo Farah's double gold success. The rabid right really can't deal with it. :-)
