Norton Site Safety (The green tick)

Postby plastic scouser » Mon Aug 02, 2010 12:04 pm

Right....firstly, can someone who runs an alternative security package to Norton tell me whether they have a similar system which gives an indication of a sites safety when listed in google search results?

Also, does anyone actually pay any attention to such advice...ie: would you still click a link from google search results even if there was no "green tick" and no security info/site not tested?

Finally, has anyone actually gone through the process of getting their site tested & received the green tick?

I thank you all in advance for your timely & valuable contributions. 8)

I use AVG and they use the green tick thing too, i don't take much notice if it has the tick or not, If theres something wrong with the site, AVG give a pop up to say there may be something harmful in the site and i should leave,

I don't think many people pay any attention. It depends on the browser too, nowadays IE and Firefox will warn you as well.
