My 4X4 hunting continues, but the target has changed.

The Honda CV-R is looking very tempting, but I want a 2002 model or later.

I've looked at a few, and I'm going to see one tomorrow, but I want top spec, leather everything, sat-nav and sun-roof.

I have also looked at a few Freelanders. I like them, but keep getting put off because of peoples bad reports about them. Anyone had one ?

I was warned off buying a Freelander by somebody that deals with the building of said motor. You can't get much less of a recommendation. Almost bought a CV-R before opting for a Dodge....

Looked at a Freelander on Saturday and loved it. £3000 for a 5 door, leather interior, 60,000miles, 2001, tow bar, roof rails/rack, running boards and bull bars..........I want it, but those bad reports !!!!

Apparently deisels are the ones to go for if you want a Freelander.

I need a 4X4 bad. I might end up with the Freelander because I can't hold on much longer ! [smilie=icon_mrhappy.gif]

the freelanders biggest problem was the head gasket
if its had a new one fitted and cam belt changed you should be ok

but im shocked you are considering one of those imported vehicles over one made in the uk

Test drove a CR-V in Leicester last Friday. I liked it. But my little brother is going to come with me tomorrow and run his mechanics eye over it and tell me it's a hunk of shit.....probably.

If not.....it's mine !!!!! [smilie=icon_mrhappy.gif]

Hunk of shit it is. Been in an accident at one time or another . Didn't buy it. The search goes on.

Nice motors but just too big an engine. I want something a bit daft, but not something that is going to see me and Mrs Chillout in the poor house !

Got a few cars lined up for a viewing during the weekend. One in Smethick and one in MK.

Get yourself one that is converted. If not and you are prepared to hold on to the motor for a few years £1000 is worth spending to convert one. :)

The search is over !

Lucked out on a 2002 52 Honda CR-V with a documented 41,000 miles on the clock !
I've looked at a few over the past few weeks and I had missed out on a good CR-V just last week, but that one had double the miles on it than the car I'm buying. So it's worked out quite well.

Mine is a manual, but I would have prefered an automatic, but this was such a good car I couldn't say no.

My little bro has just bought Claredon Motors, a long standing ICE/mobile phone/reversing sensors/all that kind of shit selling and fitting business in Leamington, he reckons when they move premises to Warwick they are going to have a clearout of old stock. He thinks they might have some 7inch touch screen do it all stereo/DVD systems going very cheap.
So I'm going to get one bunged in.

Then it's a set of swanky bull bars.............and the next time Beav sees me, I will be in his rear view mirror forcing his VW Golf off the road ! [smilie=icon_mrhappy.gif] [smilie=icon_mrhappy.gif]

Not if SBS has anything to do with it. He's clearly got design's on KC's arse - why else would the sad fucker follow him round the board like some love sick puppy? Once it goes from this site to actually waiting near your house, KC, I'd take out a restraining order, because he's quite clearly stalker material.
