What a goal. [smilie=icon_mrhappy.gif] 48mph. Boss it's fucking freezing. I live about 10 minute walk from ground. Had a choice, pay £20 and freeze or watch it on box in the warm and then get up at 0345.

That's a bit of a cunt.

Suppose that's what happens when you try and defend a 1-0 lead for half a game, you deserve to loose.

well done Chris Coleman. Your tactical stroke of genius of putting on a centre back as a striker for our top scorer really made all the difference.

You need fucking shooting. Please die.

Injuries ? Why not pick a bench that was actually fucking useful ?

Why is it when we get ourselves in front, you suddenly lose your balls and turn into Don Howe ?
Portsmouth were fucking dire tonight, absolutely fucking wank and we bullied them in the first half, so why did you then go with one up front ? Are you mentally disabled or something ?

We had one shot on target all night...against that fucking bag of shit.

We have decent players. A twat as a manager.

 - say what you think Chills.

I actually laughed when he put Grandison up front.

A midfielder goes of injured so we replace him with a striker while there is a midfielder on the bench, a striker goes off and we replace him with a defender while there is a striker in midfield and another on the bench - genius.

I expect fuck all of Coleman, he's useless. But tonight he went down even further than I thought he could. He's a fucking imbecile.

I bet there are Portsmouth fans who cannot believe they have won that game. They looked like City at their worst in that first half.

Portsmouth really didn't look up for it and for the first half we absolutely bossed the game IMO. Losing Clingan at half time indicated just how much we need him as part of this team - the difference afterwards was unbelievable and Portsmouth were worthy of the equaliser. On the balance of play in extra time and the decent chances Pompey had during it they were worthy of the win in the end.

The subs [smilie=icon_blink.gif]

Clingan has to go off, so we move the right winger in and bring a striker on to play on the right wing - despite having a right winger on the bench with pace.

Then we replace our main goal threat with a central defender (one who admittedly played up front for most of his academy career but i assume he was changed to a centre back for a reason) despite having started the game with two actual strikers on the bench. Eastwood could have gone up front and Cain brought on to the right, or Jeffers straight up front. Coleman may have wanted to maintain that physical presence up front but it's still a bizarre decision.

A cup game against decent opposition but low on confidence could have done them the world of good in terms of experience. I also thought it might have been worth giving Hussey a run out at left back ahead of Cranie to see how he's developing seeing as in the grand scheme of things losing this game wouldn't be too bad.

Westwood looked good, and McPake grows in stature every game he plays and looks a decent partnership with Wood. I don't think anyone played badly we just didn't take advantage while we were on top and suffered for it with a bit of crap communication and switching off completely at the end for the corner.

Ranson - managing the club and finances sensibly but isn't a great PR man
Boothroyd - who knows yet?

Disappointed we've lost but for 70 minutes of that game we outplayed Portsmouth. We're unfortunate that Baker/Deegan/Barnett/Madine were missing hence us having a depleted bench. I think Grandison was bought on so he could play in defence if needed (like he did in the last 5 minutes). Unfortunately we gifted them 2 goals but it may turn out to be a blessing in disguise - it's not as if our FA Cup run helped us in the league last season.

FWIW i like Coleman and i'm delighted Ranson didn't sack him like many others would, stability is what this club needs - it doesn't need moron fans like King Chillout.

Grandison is a midfielder who is usually played as a defender. Nevertheless, I tend to agree that CC must shoulder a good deal of the blame for that. At 75 minutes, Gunnarson could hardly walk, never mind run. By that time they had three subs on and we desperately needed some legs in midfield. *That* is where Grandison should have gone.

Fair play to McIndoe, Bell, Wright and McPake who worked like fuck. Best was terrific in the first-half, ran them ragged.

The ref - a knob who books Championship players and has quiet little chats with the pre-madonnas.

chris,

which bit of that fucking horror show did you not see tonight ?

The players could not be faulted....but the bloke in charge fucked that up good and proper. No one else.

And I'd like to point out that I wasn't the only one to spot it as previous comments have stated.
Mind you, it was fucking obvious, those substitutions looked like something you would find written on the inside of a Christmas cracker !

Coleman just isn't a good manager, and tonight he bollocked up on live telly so we could all see it.

Why couldn't Deegan play/be on the bench?

Did he? I must of missed that.

WTF was Wright doing early in the second half of extra time, a ball comes across him at ankle hight and he tries to control it with his chest, just missing his shoulder and giving away a pen, clumsy twat.

Home quick, Des!

Gutted tbh, I can't fathom out the Grandison substitution at all, and I hope the booing at the end was for the ref who was just awful. Seemed to me in the 2nd half Bell was frightened to tackle in case he got another card. Shows the lack of depth in the squad really, but with 4 players unavailable and the Clingan off injured I suppose it was to be expected. Not disgraced, I hope Saturday's game is postponed as I think we need a bit of a rest. But onward and upward. Play -offs here we come

In Timbo's absence I'll answer [smilie=icon_mrhappy.gif]

because only players registered in time to play for the original game can be included in the squad for the replay
