Looks like the mystery Dutch trialist from the summer is coming in permanently.

He's my new favourite player based on his name alone...welcome Denzel Slager.

How did he do on Saturday? Elvis built him up to be quick, tricky and direct so possibly an ideal replacement for Wilson whilst he is out.

He didn't score a hat-trick on his debut so some prick slagged him off on the after-match phone-in....

Wolves apparently have offered 300k and 500k for Leon.

IMO way to low we should be looking at 1.5mil + add ons for promotion, certain amount of goals scored etc

The Transfer rumours thread

We'll get the same money for him in the summer as we would now, so there's no point in accepting an offer that isn't ridiculous. Good to see the club standing firm.

Wolves have to under play it to keep their fans happy. CCFC have to do the opposite for the same reason ... Buying club vs selling club disparity of fee.... Same as it ever was.... Jog on - nothing to see here.
Oh - & as Dogga says : fuck him. Hope he breaks both his legs.

So, anyone seen any players on the released list (which is realistically is where we'll be looking) they'd like and think are sensible?

I think Andy Butler of Walsall could be decent. Experienced, captain of a Walsall team that does very well IMO for its budget.

We really need to beef up the defence given how many we conceded last year. Webster has improved but I'm not convinced by Seaborne - always seems to have an error in him. Willis isn't ready (and I'm not sure he'll make it), Urquhart is totally untested and Clarke just isn't a centre back (and to save Adge the trouble..... or a footballer).

Indeed-Thanks for clearing that up-not that we need telling about Clark anyway! Does anyone know who is/has been released by us? Seems very quiet on that front-thought Pressley was telling them all on the Monday after the season was over?

Maund, Rankin and Garner were released. The others out of contract were offered new deals. Any others like Barton are likely to be available for free rather than released as I think most are still under contract and would cost money to release.
