well it does seem like a waste of money hosting them. 14 golds, 7 silver and 8 bronze
2014 will be our year !!

Loved the spread in the Daily mail the other day on the sports we've wasted money on as we had'nt won a medal in them. One of those sports was Judo. The next day we won the silver followed the day after by a bronze

olympics

I was cheering Mo on yesterday. I don't know why I wanted him to win, either because he was representing Britain, or maybe because I used to wear Farah's when I was at school.

I'm not a fan of tennis in the olympics but it clearly means a lot to the players.

Lancs have probably got as many as Yorks though surely?

They have got 4 in the cycling alone......Wiggins, Kenny (2), Burke...

Some of the "rah rah jolly hockey sticks" commentating is cringeworthy.
And no sport should be an Olympic sport unless participated by over 50% of nations.

Smash and grab raid. Canada were completely outplayed.

I have no idea how a team can be so poor against Japan and France and yet so good against GB and the US

Rant time....

And why is it that some sports have so many medals while others are even represented?

Take cycling. It's great for Britain but exactly why is there a gold medal for following a motorbike ridden by a bloke called Keiran or something?

If there's horse dancing and showjumping why isn't there a dog agility course or something for that mutt that won BGT?

And if there's weight categories for boxing/ weightlifting etc why isn't there height categories for basketball/high jump/long jump/volleyball etc?

And also isn't it about time the non-sporty shit like poetry and town planning got re-introduced? Taken out because the people doing them weren't amateurs, but seeing as many of the athletes are now pro it's not a valid excuse anymore.

Rant over...

Womens football is fucking shit, I was hoping by going to see what was supposedly 2 of the best 4 teams in the world they wouldn't fit the awful stereotype of shitness but they did, worst football I've ever seen played at the Ricoh
